Blair Quizzed on MTV
The Right Honourable Tony Blair, MP, PC, Her Majesty's Prime Minister, appeared on MTV last week. (There, a sentence one never thought would see daylight, and another follows.) He gave a serious and thoughtful performance to a serious and thoughtful studio audience of the world's youth. However, he was upstaged by one particular member of the crowd. UN Security Council Needs Restructuring
As the Bush administration tries desperately to find 9 votes out of the 15-member UN Security Council to approve its war on Iraq, one thing has become clear apart from a certain French prickliness, and that is the desperate need to restructure the council itself. The current arrangement does not reflect the evolution of global power since 1945, and to remain relevant, changes are needed. Click here for more.

Malta Votes for EU Membership
While all eyes were on the UN Security Council last week, the small island nation of Malta voted to join the European Union. A non-binding referendum, which still garnered 91% turn-out, passed about 53.6% for joining. The general election in a few weeks will be more of a test for the "Yes" camp, but the real question is why Malta would want to join the EU at all. Click here to read why.
