Piazza-Mota War Signals Danger Ahead
Iraq wasn't the only place violence broke out last week. At a baseball field, the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers had their own brawl after Dodgers pitcher Guillermo Mota threw one at Mets catcher Mike Piazza. Suspensions have been awarded, fines levied, but baseball needs to clamp down on this before it gets serious. For more, click here.

NCAA March Madness Arrives, Junk Sports Season Ends
The national college basketball tournaments have arrived, and after several weeks of hoping that a there might be a decent soccer game on one of the more obscure sports networks on the satellite system, one's animosity toward college athletes and athletics abates. The Road to the Final Four is mostly marketing tripe, but the entertainment value of the tournament is world class. Click here to read on.

A Good Movie That Everybody Likes
The 75th Oscars were a low-key affair, in which Hollywood misunderstood its function as national morale officer and tried to be deep and somber. However, Steve Martin was on top of his game as host, and the world was spared much (but not all) of the "what was she wearing" idiocy that makes up the pre-game show. In the end, though, Hollywood proved itself to be an immature bunch of yahoos who are least harmful when making films. Click here to read more.
