Victory: Now the Peace Must Be Won
It was an odd war, with the victors sighing in relief rather than beating their chests in triumph. Of course, the outcome never was in doubt -- all the more so since the Iraqi military either could not or would not resist above the platoon level. But as Clauswitz said, "War is politics by another means," so the world must now resolve a number of political issues since the Ba'athist regime has been removed. Click here to read more.

Coalition of the Unwilling Meets, Decides Nothing
One Russian newspaper called the tri-partite meeting of President Chirac, Chancellor Schroeder and President Putin the "Summit of Losers." While the temptation to award them laurels for trying to prevent a war is significant, they failed, and the journalist who gave it that title was right. What is worse is they appear to have no plan for winning the post-war settlement either. Click here for more.

Is It Still Colonialism if the Invaders are Black?
The Americans and their Anglo-Australian pals have killed a few Iraqis, a few thousand it would appear, and the entire world is having kittens over a few dead journalists. Meanwhile, the ugly little war in the Democratic Republic of Congo has gone into year four, now, with foreign troops involved, and the anti-war protestors seem oblivious to the 1,000,000 dead.
