Syria Weathers Washington's Storm
"Syria's next" is the biggest untruth in world politics, and everyone in Washington and Damascus who matters knows it. While it is true that the US has the troops to take the Syrian capital and do for Ba'athism there what it did for this Arab brand of fascism in Iraq, it isn't about to do so. The next piece of the American Imperial jigsaw requires a diplomatic coup, and Syrian Dictator/President Bashir-al-Assad is the man to deliver it. Click here to read Kensington's Opinion.

Palestinian PM Threatens to Quit
Yasser Arafat recently lost the title of most inept political leader in the Arab world recently to Saddam Hussein, but it appears the Palestinian murderer and stateman wants the championship back. He has agreed to allow a succession of sorts, appointing Mahmoud Abbas a/k/a Abu Mazan his prime minister, and has decided not to let Mr. Abbas appoint his own cabinet. Mr. Abbas reportedly has threatened to quit, and he should if only to provoke Mr. Arafat's retirement. Click here for more.

New Presidency Rules for EU Needed
The rotating presidency of the EU, whereby each country gets to head things up for six months, has to go. The Iraq war has proved that the US will not take a European-level diplomacy seriously so long as Fritz hands off to Luigi before Pierre gets his turn.
