David M. Brinkley, 1921-2003
America lost a national, journalistic treasure in the passing Thursday of David M. Brinkley. For most of TV's life, Mr. Brinkley was a part of it. Naturally a modest man, he credited his success and longevity in the business merely to having been present at the creation of TV news. What he left out of that explanation was that he was a gifted reporter who actually did his homework -- a combination almost extinct. For more, click here.

Mexican Resort Caters to Large People
Tankah, Mexico is just south of the island of Cancun, and it is there that Freedom Paradise resort opened on Sunday. It claims that it is the first "size-friendly, all inclusive beach resort." It has sturdy chairs and benches, extra wide doors, and the beds are reinforced. Click here to read on.

Gregory Peck, RIP
Last week, this section discussed the American Film Institute's lilst of goodies and baddies in the films, and Atticus Finch, played by Gregory Peck, from "To Kill a Mockingbird" had been ranked number one good-guy. This week, good-guy Gregory Peck entered the green room in the sky. He was 87. Click here to read more.
