Supreme Court Permits Some Discrimination
The Supreme Court has come down on both sides of the affirmative action issue in the recent cases of Gratz v. Bollinger and Grutter v. Bollinger -- admissions cases at the University of Michigan. The court said it was acceptable to use race as a factor in determining who attended the university, but the point system used there was unconstitutional. It is a shame the court did not expand on the general idiocy of the undergraduate admissions policy. Click here to read more.

US Deaths Mount After Major Combat Ends
President Bush was careful in choosing his words when he declared the major fighting over in Iraq; he distinctly did not say that the war was over. He was correct. American and British forces were attacked and killed last week, and this will continue for the indefinite future. The reason is an ill-conceived occupation, which required the Anglo-American's to be cheered as liberators rather than tolerated as construction engineers. Click here for more.

No Winner in Meaningless Internet Straw Poll
The internet straw poll by the as-far-left-as-is-acceptable-without-losing-all-credibility group Moveon.org has been won by no one. Howard Dean of Vermont topped the poll at 43.87% of the 317647 votes cast, while Denis Kucinich garnered 23.93% and John Kerry received 15.73% of the vote. Not surprisingly, these were the candidates whose backers have the most internet access, merely proving that who wins an election depends on who the voters are. As a result, any tealeaf reading done based on the poll will be balderdash, codswallop and piffle. Click here to read on.
