Canada Will Let Gays Wed
Canada has decided to let homosexuals get married. No "civil union" non-sense, but a real honest-to-goodness marriage. Under international law, the US may be required to acknowledge these marriages on a par with heterosexual unions done at city hall. Religious institutions in Canada will still be able to deny gays a wedding ceremony. Three cheers for the Dominion, and three cheers of the Bronx variety for the opponents of the idea. Sino-Indian Summit Kills Tibet
India and China were making nice last week, talking about trade and better relations between the world's two most populous countries. Australia to Lead Solomon's Occupation Force
The current American foreign policy does a fine job of undermining hostile regimes, but it could do with some refining when it comes to stabilizing countries that are too internally screw-up to function. Fortunately, the US has allies like Australia to show it the way. The Aussies and a few other nations in the southwest Pacific have been invited in by the government of the Solomon Islands to help fix a situation the local government can't. Good on the Aussies. Mr. Bush should take notes. Click here to read why.
