Arnold Schwarznegger Can Win
"Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger of California" may be a phrase that brings more than a titter to a conversation, but it became a likelihood last week when The Terminator decided to throw his hat into the ring in the weird race to possibly replace Gray Davis in the governor's office in Sacramento. Mississippi Showcases 2004 Issues
Politics in the state of Mississippi don't figure heavily in the national media, and normally, this conservative state doesn't get taken too seriously as a bell-weather for the nation's mood. However, the state is one of the few with a governor's race this year (California's is an oddity, not a race), and the Republicans could make it interesting by setting the tone for next year's presidential race. Powell's Departure Would Mean Neocon Victory
Secretary of State Colin Powell's role in US foreign policy got a re-examination last week when it was rumored that he would not serve in a second Bush the Lesser administration. It is an open secret that Mr. Powell and his deputy, Richard Armitage, who was also rumored to be on the way out, are the only multi-lateralists on the Bush team.
