Bush Plan Throws Money Away in Iraq
While swine flesh isn't permitted to Muslims under the halal dietary laws, it would appear that the Bush administration is insistent on serving pork to Iraq three times daily. Venezuela Takes Recall Cue from California
Despite having lost the confidence of his people, Hugo Chavez remains president of Venezuela. That may not be the case for much longer, though, as the nation's election council has approved rules for a recall ballot. While the Kensington Review is on record as saying Mr. Chavez should resign, the approval of these rules is a disaster, bringing Venezuela a step closer to the kind of Third World democracy normally associated with Florida or California. Nigerian Adultress Won't be Stoned
Amina Lawal isn't going to be stoned to death after all. A Nigerian appeals court overturned her conviction of adultery, which under the sharia laws imposed by many 12 northern Nigerian states is punishable by burying the convicted up to his/her chest and throwing stones at said convict until the Angel of Death visits. The appellate court seems to have given in to political pressure, but the sharia law itself remains a danger to the peace of the country. Click here to read why.
