Dean's Foreign Policy Just Lacks Policy
Having had Al Gore's endorsement overshadowed by the capture of Saddam Hussein, Governor Howard Dean tried to put out a "major" foreign policy speech before the Pacific Council in LA. The Governor believes in the traditional multi-lateralist approach that is mainstream for Democrats, and he believes in better intelligence. Fewer ex-Soviet nukes and more AIDS spending in Africa are nice ideas, too. Once again, dealing with foreign affairs is misconstrued as foreign policy. Click here to read more.

George W. Bush may not be the smartest man to ever live in the White House, nor the richest, best-looking nor most eloquent. However, he just might be the luckiest when it comes to his opponents. Court Gives Padilla to Civilian Authorities
It was a victory for common sense, but it required a 2-1 vote by the 2nd US Court of Appeals to turn US citizen Jose Padilla over to civilian justice. The court decided that, in time of war, the president does not have the power to hold a citizen detained on US soil as an enemy combatant.
