US Adds 308,000 Jobs in March
The jobless recovery added 308,000 jobs to the American economy in March, and the question now is whether this is a false start or the beginning of flood of jobs. There is no way to tell at the moment, but the flat manufacturing sector and an actual increase in the unemployment rate to 5.7% from 5.6% undermines the good feelings the White House will try to sell the country.

Canadian Court Says File Sharing Doesn't Violate Copyrights
The recording industry took it on the chin last week when a court in Canada held that file sharing of music did not violate copyrights according to Canadian law. Inevitably, their will be an appeal, but the industry is in a lot of trouble now because all of Canada will be able to swap the latest tunes freely.

WLIB Joins Liberal Talk Radio, Drops Black Audience
Air America is the belated effort by the mushy left in America to claim part of the radio spectrum for its own. Largely the reactionary right, e.g., Rush Limbaugh, holds sway in the land of the blabbermouth. However, in New York, the noble experiment took WLIB (1190 AM) away from the black community it had previously served. But was it was just business, as they say in the Godfather films?
