The Shooting Never Stopped
Thanks to the
kerfuffle about UN resolutions and Congressional support for regime change in
Iraq, the world has chosen to close its eyes to a simple fact about US-Iraqi
relations -- namely, the shooting never stopped. Western, mainly US, aircraft
enforce no-fly zones in Iraq by using live ammunition. This means that when the
war comes, the spark will likely be a conscript Iraqi soldier hitting a
multi-billion dollar plane with a lucky shot from his AA gun. Click here to read

Carter Finally
Gets His
Jimmy Carter gets to add "Nobel Laureate" to his resume now,
and about time, too. It's hard to believe that he didn't get one for the Camp
David deal while Arafat and Begin, murdering thugs both, got one, to say nothing
of H. Kissinger and Le Duc Tho (who at least had the decency to decline the
honor) for signing a peace treaty and continuing a war. Then again, perhaps not.

Wearing Black is Not Enough
Another IMF/World Bank meeting has come and gone, and the
anti-globalists protesting outside have embarrassed themselves and those of us
who sympathize with their goals. The complaint that people are apathetic may be
true, but that does not excuse the few who aren't from being ineffective. In
fact, given the results of the Washington protests, the people who did show up
should be tried by a People's Tribunal for giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
